Hundreds of Israeli Tanks Near Lebanon Mysteriously Disappear in Just One Day
Earlier this week, a large number of Israeli tanks and armored personnel carriers were gathered in a field in northern Israel, just a few kilometers from the border with Lebanon. However, by the next day, they had all disappeared. The only evidence of their presence was a few empty ammunition boxes and tank tracks on the ground.
According to Sky News, it is unclear where these tanks have gone. Given the recent days of heavy rocket fire from Hezbollah into this area, remaining in one location for an extended period is not safe, regardless of whether these vehicles have moved to southern Lebanon.
Sky News reporters drove closer to the border and could see the homes of both Lebanese and Israeli people on the opposite hillsides. These communities are geographically connected yet divided by the conflict.
Even from a distance at the Israel-Lebanon border, the journalists could hear gunfire as the Israeli military engaged with Hezbollah fighters inside Lebanon. Alongside the sound of artillery shells, the hum of drones could also be heard overhead.
Hezbollah, which has tens of thousands of fighters and long-range missiles capable of striking deep into Israeli territory, is considered the most powerful non-state military force in the world.
The Iran-backed armed group began firing into northern Israel a day after Hamas launched a surprise attack into southern Israel on October 7, 2023. Since that time, around 60,000 Israelis have fled their villages, towns, and communities near the border.
Currently, Israel’s primary objective in its expanded campaign against Hezbollah, which began last month and recently escalated into a ground assault, is to ensure that all displaced citizens can safely return to their homes.
